The Music of Creation in Tolkien and Lewis

by Andrej Strocaŭ

We will probably never know where Dante drew the line in his Divine Comedy between his own belief and fiction (in the modern sense of the word). It is quite possible that, for him, such a distinction would not have made any sense. In any case, we can be sure he was, at the same time, totally serious and totally free in his writing.

Andrej Strocaŭ

Andrej Strocaŭ is an anthropologist, translator, and illustrator. He holds a Master in Social Sciences from the School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences in Paris. Andrej’s fields of expertise are the Orthodox diaspora of the Russian tradition in France and the literary works of J. R. R. Tolkien and the Inklings. He is a member of the “Orthodox Vision for Belarus” group and the Warden of the Belarusian Orthodox parish of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Vilnius.
